“Members of some opposition parties will protest against the Government in front of the Parliament of Montenegro, which is located in the Boulevard of St. Petar of Cetinje (Bulevar Svetog Petra Cetinjskog), between the Boulevard of Stanko Dragojevic and the Street of Njegoseva,” a statement from the US Embassy in Montenegro.
The U.S. Embassy added that according certain media reports, similar protests could be expected in other towns, but there were no details about that for the time being.
Although it was announced that the protests would be peaceful, there is possibility of conflicts which could escalate into violence. The U.S. Embassy advised its citizens to avoid the area of where the protests would be held, and to be careful if they were near big rallies, protests or demonstrations.
In addition, the Embassy also recommended avoiding unnecessary travelling through Montenegro on the day of protest.
“Check your personal safety plans, be aware of your surrounding including local events and check news of the local media. Be careful and take the appropriate measures to improve personal safety and follow the instructions of local authorities”, the U.S. Embassy to Montenegro announced.
