We are witnesses to a very unstable epidemic situation in Montenegro, Dr Senad Begić, assistant Director of the Institute for Public Health, said at today’s press conference.
A total of 271 patients have been admitted to hospital, Dr Dragoslav Tomanović, director of the General Hospital in Bar, said.
Toughening measures is the only way, but I think we are late
Asked what they will do to avoid the transmission, Dr Begić answered:
“They way I see it, toughening measures is the only way out. We have been fighting the same virus, but we still haven’t managed to understand some very simple things”.
However, he thinks it’s too late.
Self-isolation for 14 days, waiting period will be reduced
Asked why tests are late, Dr Begić said that there are so many samples, which requires assistance of other laboratories.
“It requires 14 days for a patient not to be infectious”, Dr Begić said.
About the funeral of Mr Amfilohije: It could have been different
“I totally understand religious feelings and emotions. But I think it could have all been different”, Dr Begić said.
Dr Begić pointed out that people at the Institute “are very tired”.
He also stressed that one death could drastically changed mortality rate at the state level and that it could not be compared to other states.
