The Commercial Court initiated bankruptcy proceedings in Bijelo Polje-based Bjelasica Rada company, Dnevne Novine newspaper writes.
The Bjelasica Rada company’s trade union requested the bankruptcy over unpaid 13 net salaries in the amount of €250,000 and nearly €500,000 unpaid social welfare contributions for eight years.
The first creditor meeting is scheduled for 30 June 2017, while the trial for examining claims is to be held on 6 July.
The interim bankruptcy trustee Sasa Zejak previously found that on 31 March the Bjelasica Rada’s bank account was blocked for 346 days due to a €2.84m debt, that there were no payments to the company for 372 days and that the plant was likely to go bankrupt due to the accumulated losses.
The Bijelo Polje mineral water factory is majority owned by the closed investment fund Eurofond, which possesses around 78% of this company’s shares.
