Bošković: Potential of Sinjajevina should be valued fully

Minister of Defense, Predrag Bošković, has visited municipalities of Kolašin and Mojkovac, and stated that the potential of Sinjajevina should be valued more. He also said that he would extend military service to other municipalities too.

In that context, subject of consideration was the reconstruction of “Đuro Drašković” military barrack in Kolašin, from the aspect of the creation of capacities and potential for the voluntary military service.

“Considering that the reaction to voluntary military service is far beyond the expectations, our intention is to increase the number of posts young people can fill and to widen the base of the future military agents”, said Minister Bošković.

Presidents of both municipalities recognized the importance of opening the polygon Sinjajevina for both the Armed Forces of Montenegro and the residents of these two municipalities.

“All the studies we conduct show that military activities on the polygon can’t endanger the environment, residents or natural resources at all. Potential of Sinjajevina is huge and we should realize it together. Its usefulness for the citizens would be multiple – construction of infrastructure, paving the roads, land development and water supply management”, said the Minister.

Minister Bošković presented the possibilities of the Armed Forces of Montenegro that will soon be able to carry out fast medical evacuations for endangered persons and victims of emergency situations and other incidents, with the help of three new multi-functional helicopters and in cooperation with the Clinical Center of Montenegro.

President of the municipality of Kolašin, Milosav Bato Bulatovič, said that the cooperation with the Armed Forces of Montenegro “is very important”. Army is a serious partner that will contribute to the development of the municipality.

“We agreed on the military assistance regarding infrastructure projects. Since development in tourism is the priority of the municipality, we firmly believe that the new amenities in tourism and the improvement infrastructure will increase tourism activity. We want to support the voluntary military service and we’re looking forward to welcoming those young people. As far as the new polygon Sinjajevina is concerned, it is very important that the local administration uses all the benefits that the Army can bring”, said Mr. Bulatović.

The interest of the municipality of Mojkovac is to improve the infrastructure in the municipality”, said the president of the municipality of Mojkovac, Ranko Mišnić.
