The decision to detain was made by an investigative judge of Podgorica’s High Court Miroslav Bašović, Pobjeda writes.
“Danger from influencing witnesses, severity of punishment, severity of the crime and consequences are the reasons that made investigative judge decide for detention”, lawyer Vuković explained.
He announced their decision to appeal.
Savić was arrested on Friday after which he gave a statement in the Special Prosecution about his part in the frauds that cost the capital of tourism several millions.
Investigators find Savić’s actions in three capital projects of Budva Municipality suspicious.
It is believed that the construction of plateau on Jaz cost Municipality more than 2 million EUR. In the case of construction on the Boulevard from Post Office to Fair, the price was 3,7 million EUR, while construction of village road for Krapina had a damage of 1,1 million EUR.
