I see litanies held in Montenegro over the past few months as demonstrations against Montenegro’s state, national and cultural identity. Montenegro has resisted numerous attacks in its history, and it will resist this one as well, said a writer and member of the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts, Jevrem Brkovic.
All processes and events in a society should be perceived, according to him, through a question – what are their benefits and what quality do they bring to a society?
Mr Brković continued: “An idea has come up, which has always existed, but now it’s emerging in new forms – to get Montenegro in a fine and peaceful way, without bloodshed, so that it can either join Serbia, as it happened back in 1918 by force, or to get it as the consequence of “the will of the people.”
They won’t manage to do it, Mr Brković was adamant.
