Budget foresees support for MNE’s north and tourism economy

Goran Đurović

Montenegro earned €916m from tourism in the first 9 months of this year, Minister of Economic Development and Tourism Goran Djurovic has told TVCG. He says he expects revenues of €1bn by the end of the year, but he also admits that during the winter season, the ski resorts will face some infrastructural problems.

Just when the impressions were gathered and the money earned from the summer season counted, the winter season is on our doorstep.

Preparations are underway, says Djurovic and promises a rich offer in both the north and the south of the country.

“We have already had three coordinating bodies to prepare for the season, it’s going step by step. Is it perfect – it is not. We will have infrastructure problems, the parking lot at the ski resort in Kolasin is not finished, but a temporary solution will be found for this season”, says Djurovic.

“Based on the indicators we have for the previous 9 months (January-September), Montenegro earned €916m, which is 30% more than last year, so we are witnessing a strong recovery of Montenegrin tourism”, says Djurovic.

If the MPs adopt the proposed budget for next year, then recovery is inevitable, Djurovic points out.
