Good morning! After the shameful response and behavior of the security sector leaders in Cetinje and after Cetinje, the Police Directorate tolerates the hijacking of the local parliament in Budva and the blocking of democratic processes by hooded persons working in the interest of the state government. After Savnik and Andrijevica, the violence of DF’s SA unit suspends democracy in Montenegro.

Budva – Another Evidence of Catastrophic Security Situation
In Budva, as far as I understand, there was some kind of behind-the-scenes agreement that the DPS minority would support the government of the Budva Our City ticket and the coalition gathered around the SDP. The candidate for the local parliament speaker is Petar Odzic, and the candidate for mayor is Nikola Jovanovic, the right-hand man of Milo Bozovic, who managed to become an independent leader, and after coming from Mojkovac just a few years ago – became the mayor of Budva. Whatever I think about Jovanovic, and about his politics and the background of his ticket, he managed to win the elections in Budva and defeat the entire government and the Podgorica government, which he confronted. On the other side is Petar Odzic, who leads the ticket of SDP and partners, who already cooperated with this government and continued SDP’s tradition of managing finances in Budva. The URA led by Blazo Radjenovic could also be in power.
Such a government would be quite stable and the practice of discrimination against Montenegrins in Budva would stop. The DF and the Democrats, who brought Budva to its current position, would finally be sidelined.
PES still has no leader and committee in Budva, the richest city in Montenegro. But that’s why they are strong in Berane and Andrijevica.
The sessions of the Budva parliament have always been a good show for the wider Montenegrin public, but the Budva government should devote itself to Budva’s problems.
If the police protect the democratic processes and stop being the Democrats’ party police and if a new government is finally elected, the Jovanovic-Odzic duo could prove to be an alternative to the dead end into which the DF and PESocrates have led us.
The line of demarcation between the entities of the parliamentary majority is less and less visible, and Budva can serve as an experiment that should break the cover for non-cooperation with the DPS, behind which much worse things are hidden than what the DPS did in Budva.
Almost ten years have passed since DPS has not been in power in Budva, excluding two months of the summer of 2020. What has been solved in terms of the problems that Budva was known for? Is there less corruption? Has the rampant construction and concreting stopped? Was the theater built? Is there a cinema? Has the Academy of Knowledge received a use permit? Where is Lungo Mare? Where is the hospital? Is the city cleaner? Do we have parks? Have the planning documents been changed? Is the park at the Slovenska beach protected?
Literally nothing has been done in ten years and someone has the nerve to talk about the rule of DPS and non-cooperation with them. However, it seems that people in Budva have seen through that hollow story. There is no public service and there is no civic activism in that city. During the DPS rule there could be heard some criticism on RTV Budva, activists’ protests could also be seen. Now everything has died down. Just as the city died.
That’s it for today. We wish you a pleasant rest of the day.
