Budva is a boring town, research suggests

Even 38,1% of young people in Budva think  living there is so boring, 18,9% of them think is’t not certain, 11,2% think it’s modest, 11,1% think it’s interesting and nice whereas 12,7% of the respondents didn’t know how to answer. This research on the needs of young people was carried out by the Working group that worked  on the Draft of the Municipal Strategy for Young people 2018-2021.

The research was carried out online, and the representative sample was made up of 307 respondents, aged between 15 and 30. The majority of them were high school students, 64,5% were females and 35,5% were males.

When asked what is that they would like to change in Budva, the majority of respondents said that young people should have greater impact in decision-making process. Some of them would change education system, rehabilitate high schools, start controlling the work of professors for example and so on.

Some of them also think that the municipality should allow more high school and university students exchanges abroad. As far as the healthcare is concerned, one of the suggestions was the construction of the hospital.

The majority of the respondents thinks that there should be more green areas in Budva, more parks, playgrounds and more sport activities.

One respondent wrote that young people should start working. There were those who think that the advantage in employment should be given to the residents of Budva first. Considerable number of respondents think that minors had to be forbidden the access to drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, discos.
