Amending decision on obtaining Montenegrin citizenship is a part of a dangerous political agenda on ethnic and political malversations of the current government, and interior minister may not be aware of it. It’s very important for the government to solve this issue as they’re preparing future elections in this way and are reinforcing the electoral roll that traditionally votes for pro-Serbian parties. Having in mind that the Serbian Orthodox Church, SPC, won the last year’s parliamentary elections, it’s logical that it now expects the government to fulfil its requirements, which looks humiliating and discriminatory in a civic Montenegro, lawyer Azra Jasavić, ex-MP of Positive Montenegro, says in an interview for Dnevne Novine daily.
According to her, interior minister should think about the rights of all the citizens he wants to erase from electoral rolls and who belong to minority nations, as it’d mean the continuation of the act of ethnic cleaning from 90s of the 20th century.
“Maybe after that he’ll understand the seriousness of the consequences of such political decisions and the fear of civil Montenegro, which must protect its survival and duration,” Ms Jasavić points out.
