Following media reports, the Podgorica High State Prosecutor’s Office has brought case over the death of Drita Tafa, a woman who died two months after childbirth.
“During preliminary enquiries, the information from citizens was collected and a proposal was sent to the investigative judge of the Podgorica High Court to order exhumation, after which follows the order to send the body for an autopsy. This prosecutor’s office will take all the necessary measures and actions with the aim of solving this concrete case, and will make the decision based on it.”
Recall, Drita Tafa from Ulcinj died at the Clinical Centre of Montenegro on Saturday. On 13 September, she gave birth by Caesarean after which her condition worsened drastically.
