The Catholic Church of Sveti Ilija, which is part of the Kotor Institute of Marine Biology in the Plagenti Peninsula in Dobrota, according to the Real Estate Administration, is registered as the possession of the Serbian Orthodox Church, SPC.
In particular, the Catholic Church in Dobrota “has been registered” as the possession of the Sveti Ilija Church in Nalježići – Grbalj, owned by the Serbian Orthodox Church, writes Pobjeda daily.
According to the document that Pobjeda daily had the insight into, the SPC is a user of a 23-square-meter place of worship and a 268-square-meter garden right next to the Institute of Marine Biology. It turns out that the church was gifted to the Kotor bishopric by the Radončić family in early 70s.
The daily Pobjeda couldn’t obtain the information from the Real Estate Administration who requested the change of ownership and on basis of which documents this transfer of ownership had been done.
“We are unable to provide any information prior to the above-mentioned registration because it is in the historical archives of the Municipality of Kotor, “the Real Estate Administration replied.
