Central Bank of Montenegro referred to the Government of Montenegro Recommendations for economic policy in 2020, primarily aimed at stimulating economic development and improving living standard of the citizens of Montenegro.
Today’s session of the Advisory board of the Central Bank was dedicated to the Recommendations for economic policy in 2020.
Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro, Mr Radoje Žugić, explained that recommendations for the Government were aimed at stimulating economic development and improving living standard in Montenegro. Recommendations also touched on the vulnerabilities identified in specific segments of the economy and offered suggestions for their elimination.
It was stated that economic policy next year should be focused on improving of competitiveness and productivity, widening economic base, stimulating equal regional development, reducing business barriers and implementing structural reforms.
Emphasis should be put on stimulating industrial production, as fundamental source of creating new value.
Considering negative effects of demographic trends Montenegro is exposed to, special attention was given to stronger support for education as it improves competitiveness of staff and, at the same time, economy.
