Montenegrin Power Distribution System (CEDIS) will invest €78m in the development and maintenance of the electricity distribution network in the country in the next three years, the company representatives told Dnevne Novine.
According to the three year investment plan, CEDIS will continue the installation of smart electric meters, the construction of new electricity facilities, the reconstruction of the distribution network, as well as the optimization of the labour force and trainings for employees.
In the upcoming period, CEDIS employees will mostly work in Ulcinj and Herceg Novi, due to the growing electricity demand in these areas caused by the construction of a very large number of tourist and residential-business facilities.
“In September, the construction of the 35/10kV Novi Ulcinj transmission substation will start. The project is more than €2m worth. The works on the 35kV cable line from the 35/10kV Kumbor substation to the new 35/10kV Klinci substation have been completed, including installation of the 1,000km long submarine section of the cable,” CEDIS stated.
According to the company, the electricity supply network in Montenegro is of good quality both in terms of technical accuracy and in terms of delivered electricity.
