Celebration of the members of the Albanian Forum in Tuzi was the main feature of the elections held in Tuzi. Albanian flags and flags of the Kosovo Liberation Army fluttered everywhere. Montenegrin public condemned this kind of celebration, but there were also those who thought that there was no any problem about it.

Numerous parties strongly criticized such celebration of the winners of the elections in Malesija. Some even went as far as to submit charges against the president of this alliance, Nik Đeljošaj.

“Alternative Montenegro filed charges against Nik Đeljošaj alleging attempted terrorism and calling Montenegrin citizens of Albanian nationality for the violation of  the Law And the Constitution of Montenegro”.

Democratic Party of Socialists reacted first.

“With utmost understanding of the feeling of national identity of Albanians and other national minorities in Montenegro, we think it is inappropriate to express satisfaction in such a way. They undermined the concept of a civil state which is the absolute foundation of Montenegrin statehood”, said the representatives of DPS.

There were those saying that such remarks were the “product” of the failure of DPS at the elections. However, some opposition parties blamed DPS for the atmosphere in Tuzi. Dritan Abazović’s party put the blame on DPS. They fiercely condemn the “fascist exclamations and the iconography that was presented on Sunday night in Tuzi”. DPS and their thirty-year long government, failed to create a civic society. DPS is to take responsibility for this.

On the other side, Minister of Human and Minority Rights, Mehmed Zenka, sees nothing wrong and inappropriate with the celebration in Tuzi.

“Albanian flag is a usual thing with Albanian parties. We are Albanians, after all. What flags did you expect to see? Right because Montenegro is a civil state, it’s allowed”, said Zenka.

He sees nothing wrong in chanting either. It absolutely offended no one – neither Montenegro nor the values it cherishes.
