Specific structures in Montenegro are planning to celebrate one century since the establishment of Podgorica Assembly. For that occasion, they requested the hall of the Montenegrin National Theater to use it for ten days.
The Ministry of Culture has made it clear – this means celebrating date which symbolizes entrance into the period of darkness and repression which is completely in opposition to the attitudes of the state and ideas which are the foundation of Montenegrin society.
In the department of Aleksandar Bogdanović, the announced event is considered a provocation and attempt of creating new divisions in the country.
An important event is the one which is of crucial importance for state, social, economic or cultural development of Montenegro. Also, an important date is the one that was significant in efforts for freedom and fight against fascism.
Montenegrin National Theater rejected the request of the President of Serbian National Council, Momčilo Vuksanović. He wanted the hall of the MNT to be at their disposal from 19-22h for the purposes of the celebration of hundred years since the formation of Podgorica Assembly. Ministry of Culture finds it unacceptable.
