Last year, the Montenegrin Electric Transmission System, CGES, earned €11.6 million from the effects of the commercial use of an undersea power cable connecting Montenegro and Italy. They told Pobjeda daily that so far they have generated €4.6 million income by using the undersea power cable based on the allocation of cross-border capacities with Italy.
CGES pointed out that turning on the undersea power cable in late 2019 had increased the interest in the allocation of cross-border transmission capacities on other Montenegrin borders, so the revenues on this ground, on borders with Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Albania, amounted to €6.98 million last year.
“Completion and commercial use of the undersea power cable between Montenegro and Italy, as one of the most significant infrastructure projects in the area of energy, have justified the last year’s expectations. Taking into account the achieved results of all previous allocations of transmission capacities, we may say we’re extremely satisfied,” the CGES told Pobjeda daily.
