The Czech Skoda Praha company, the current partner of the Electric Power Company of Montenegro (EPCG) in the Thermal Power Plant Pljevlja second block construction, proposed the US General Electric company as an alternative financier of the project.
According to the project, main design development would last 18 months, whereas the works would last 36 months in total, the Mina Business news agency reports.
“The management team of the project, along with relevant entities, is to discuss the proposed alternative, and in the relevant period of time, possibly after additional negotiations, will try to reach an agreement with the financial and insurance institutions proposed by Skoda Praha (the Bank of China and the Chinese Sinosure insurance company). The public will be informed timely about the course of negotiations on financing and the final decision,” the statement said.
It added that in accordance with the dynamics defined by the contracts signed, developing the main design would last 18 months, whereas overall work performance would last 36 months.
