Civil rescue and protection service had 545 interventions in 2017

The Kotor Civil Rescue and Protection Service and the Perast volunteer fire fighting brigade, which belong to the system of protection and rescue of the Municipality of Kotor, had the busiest season in the last ten years. During 2017, they had 545 interventions, which is by 150-200 operations above an average.

“It was a record-breaking season with 545 interventions. In addition, we had 38 operations in other municipalities – Tivat, Herceg Novi, Budva and Cetinje,” the commander of the Kotor Civil Rescue and Protection Service Maksim Mandic told the weekend edition of Dnevne Novine.

The Kotor service has 24 professional fire fighters. There are eight of them in the Perast club, as well as about 30 volunteers.
