Close to EUR 30 mil given for Maestral

Company that owned Maestral and accompanying tourist facilities, Hit Montenegro, offered the Resort for partial sale, hoping that fresh money will mean new investment into existing assets. Hit agreed to sell 75.01 percent of the company to Mr. Stathis who is best known as international investor and manager of some of the most luxurious resorts in the chain of Aman, including Aman Sveti Stefan and Aman Grand Canal Venice.

Stathis thanked all parties involved in the sale process for their professionalism and dedication, stressing the deal will be of mutual interest.

“Given that we are already neighbors, bearing in mind our Aman Sveti Stefan, which is close to the Maestral, I highly appreciate this opportunity, knowing very well the potential that this area has”, said Stathis in his statement after the sale contract was signed.

According to him, the ultimate goal is to invest in existing capacities and to strengthen the reputation that this resort already has. Stathis added the company relies on the commitment of employees, as an important factor for success and stressed Montenegro is a country of great potential which is both personally and business-wise important to him.

CEO of the seller company, Dimitrij Piciga, stressed that Hit would not sell Maestral at all costs, explaining the intentions of the new investor were very much taken into account.

He added the focus is now on doing good business, to show how successfully the Resort can work, because this will affect the total price of the transaction. Piciga said the goal for the future is to develop facilities, improve services, link destinations and encourage circulation of guests.

When it comes to the casino, which is also part of Maestral’s complex, Piciga says Hit may continue to manage it.
