The coal mine in Pljevlja is implementing a fair transition plan that includes opening 12 new business units within the company, some of which are already operational. These units are involved in various projects, such as construction work for local utilities and energy companies. The mine also plans to build one of Montenegro’s largest solar parks with a capacity of around 62 MW and a new 2.2 MW mini hydroelectric plant on the Cehotina River.
Alongside these energy projects, there will be business, residential, and recreational developments. This transformation aims to create sustainable, long-term jobs and modernise the company in line with EU decarbonization goals.
