Communicating with EBRD is a privilege

Montenegro’s president, Mr Milo Đukanović, welcomed Ms Charlotte Ruhe, managing director for Central and South Eastern Europe at the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) who is in her official visit to Montenegro.

Mr Đukanović expressed satisfaction with continuous stable cooperation with EBRD and said it was great partnership that should be continued.

“Maintaining communication with such an important strategic partner is a privilege”, said Mr Đukanović.

President reminded that Montenegro and EBRD had very rich cooperation agenda. Around €570 million have been invested in 60 projects.

“EBRD support contributed to steady pace of Montenegro’s development and a favorable business environment. Thanks to our successful cooperation, we have significantly improved infrastructure, energy potentials and development of small and medium business. We are committed to the continuation of our partnership”, said Mr Đukanović.

He pointed out that strengthening competitiveness and improvement of different models and practices of private and public partnership would be priority. In order to maintain the status of inspirational investment tourist destination, Montenegro will continue to cooperate with EBRD.

Ms Ruhe confirmed that Montenegro was an important partner. The most important potentials for cooperation have been identified in the area of tourism and agriculture.

Both sides expressed interest in further improvement of skills required in tourism. EBRD is interested in endorsing investment in the domain of renewable energy, strengthening private sector competitiveness and healthcare sector.
