Construction materials costlier by 35%-50%, price growth affects real estate prices as well

Građevinski materijal poskupio 35 do 50 odsto

The prices of construction materials have grown by 35% to 45% this year, and even more than 50%, which refers to the prices of reinforcing iron, copper and aluminum, the Chamber of Commerce has told Pobjeda.

The reasons for the rise in prices are last year’s decline in world production of construction materials due to the consequences of the Covid-19 crisis, as well as this year’s large increase in distribution and transport prices.

It is recalled that the price of diesel fuel, which is significantly used in the construction industry, according to data from MONSTAT, increased by 26.5% in the period from October 2020 to the same month this year.
