Bad season in tourism provoked by COVID-19 pandemic will affect the business results of the Regional Water Supply system but we believe that business indicators will maintain the stability trend, said in the interview for Glasnik Privredne komore acting CEO of the Regional Water Supply system  of the Coast, Mr Goran Jevrić.

“With the aim of mitigating the consequences of the coronavirus, we have formed a multi-disciplinary crisis headquarters which has developed three possible models for future business operations of the Regional Water Supply system. We have projected a decline in revenues from 15 to 40%”, Mr Jevrić says.

Over the past several years, Regional Water Supply system s has been exposed to numerous business challenges.

“Over the past four years, business profit has been by even 100% higher than the best business results. We were ready when this crisis arose. On the other side, we expect that development projects which are underway will provide stability of the Regional Water Supply system”, Mr Jevrić points out.

Implementation of projects will improve the environment for further development of tourism business on the coast.

“I could even say that our business operations have intensified during crisis as we started to implement some very important development projects, worth €24 million. Our company provided assistance to the National Coordination Body by donating funds for the procurement of the necessary medical equipment. Also, our employees donated part of their salary”, Mr Jevrić says.

In the first six months, Regional Water Supply system didn’t need state support measures like other companies did.

“However, having regard to the extended impact of the virus, we are going to analyze carefully real needs of the Regional Water Supply system for credit support, with the aim of maintaining liquidity of the company”, Mr Jevrić adds.

He says that the crisis hasn’t affected their development plans as Government has approved €24 million through state guarantees for development projects.

“I’d single out completion of the first phase of the construction of Regional Waterworks by connecting Herceg Novi to the waterworks. This investment will cost €2 million. Another important project is construction of the second phase of regional waterworks system, to increase the capacity of the regional water supply system for Tivat, Kotor and Herceg Novi by around 120%”, Mr Jevrić explained.

The most important project is addressing the problem of the lack of drinking water.
