Institute for Public Health of Montenegro advises citizens to avoid travelling to Italy, due to fast spread of coronavirus in that country. As the situation is changing on a daily basis, risk from coronavirus in Montenegro is now moderate. Currently, 43 persons in Montenegro are under watch.

“We’re monitoring the situation in Italy carefully. We communicate with WHO, we are preparing and implementing measures. We don’t want to forbid communication between people and goods and we’d like to state that traveling to the affected regions is not forbidden. However, it is advised not to travel unless it is really necessary”, Mr Boban Mugoša, director of the institute.

According to him, if citizens still travel then they should provide information on travelling on their return. Citizens who traveled to affected areas will be put under watch.

Mr Mugoša explains that citizens who travel to affected areas should make some sort of self-isolation.

“There’s problem with acquisition of equipment. We have enough equipment for now, nu we are trying to get more”, Mr Mugoša said.

Mr Mugoša says that supervision in Montenegro has been good.

“Measures in Montenegro have been raised to higher level. The virus itself is not well known, there are many doubts in relation to it. Citizens should abide by the measures listed on the website of the Institute”, Mr Mugoša said.

Currently, 43 persons in Montenegro are under watch.

The authorities are considering quarantine places in case coronaviruis breaks out in Montenegro.

“WHO does not recommend restrictions on travelling”, Mr Mugoša said.

Chinese workers

Supervision over Chinese workers in Montenegro has been toughened.

Around 10 workers came back from China and around 400 are expected to come back.

“They will be placed in camps. Those workers are not from Hubei province, the hot spot of the virus”, Mr Mugoša stressed.
