The Public Health Institute director Igor Galić says that the new epidemiological measures include strict controls at border crossings, except for the citizens of Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Albania and Kosovo. The operation of bookmakers, casinos, fitness centers and gyms in Budva, Tivat, Herceg Novi, Podgorica, Cetinje, Nikšić, Kotor, Bar, Ulcinj, Plužine and Pljevlja is forbidden.
In those cities, classes will be organised online as of tomorrow, and kindergartens will not work from the day after tomorrow.
Mr Galić adds that the operation of hospitality facilities is prohibited in these municipalities as well.
“Passengers who, upon entering Montenegro, submit a negative PCR test or a rapid antigen test not older than 48 hours or a positive serological test for IgG antibodies not older than one month or have evidence that they have been vaccinated against Covid-19 can enter Montenegro, while in other cases, they are sent to self-isolation”, states Mr Galić.
A new measure is the closure of parks in the mentioned municipalities.
According to Mr Galić, the measures will be applied in the next 7 days.
Health Minister Jelena Borovinić Bojović stresses that hospital capacities across the country have increased and that the current occupancy is 67%.
Minister of Interior Sergej Sekulović points out that in the previous period, actions were taken selectively when respecting the measures.
“Our capacities have been increased and strengthened.
We will act repressively and we don’t want anyone to end up in prison, but we will do it for the health of the citizens”, says Mr Sekulović.
