Crackdown on crime: Watch the operation of search and arrests in Budva

After the Bay of Kotor and the north of the country, police raided homes of persons of interest in Budva, Bar and Ulcinj. Four people have been arrested in the dawn raids and dozens were detained. CdM learns that weapons and ammunition were found. Nikola Sjekloca (39), a former member of the Budva DCG executive committee, is among those arrested in Budva.

Yesterday and today, the police raided 24 locations in the area of ​​Budva, Bar and Ulcinj.

“So far, 24 people have been detained, four of which have been arrested for the illegal possession of weapons. Weapons, ammunition, a gun silencer, optical rifle gun and portable radio stations have been seized. Further police activities are to follow,” Police Directorate stated.

In the 11 locations that were searched, in addition to the aforementioned weapons and equipment, the Budva police found 775 bullets of various calibres in one vehicle without registration plates.

Budva resident Nikola Sjekloca (39) and Niksic resident M.K. (28) have been arrested and they will be brought to the state prosecutor in Podgorica. They have been charged with illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials.

In the same police operation, Niksic resident Dragan Sukurica (24) and Zoran Sjekloca (39) were arrested in Budva last night on suspicion of committing criminal offenses of illegal possession of weapons and explosive materials. They have already been brought to the state prosecutor in the Podgorica High State Prosecutor’s Office.

In Bar, police officers found 212 pieces of ammunition and several pieces of various guns.

The competent prosecutor was informed about the matter in order to classify the criminal offense.

In tree operations conducted in the last week, Montenegrin police have targeted criminal groups and persons of interest, searched 61 locations in the south and north of the country used by members of these groups and their close associates.

They have seized weapons and ammunition, luxury cars, means of communication, contracts and other documents, money etc. Several people have been arrested. All seized objects will be analysed at the Forensic Centre in order to determine their origin or possible connection with the committed crimes.

These intensified measures followed the announcement of the heads of security services in Montenegro that the state would take the matter into its own hands.

Shortly after these statements, the police checked persons of interest in the Boka operation.

Then, at 21 locations in Kotor, Tivat and Herceg Novi, apartments of members of Kavac and Skaljari organised criminal groups and their close associates were searched then.
