The average monthly wage in Montenegro amounting to €512 doesn’t seem to affect Montenegrin citizens, willing to take out loans and pay them back in monthly installments, just to be able to celebrate the New Year’s Eve in the European and world’s most visited countries.
Despite frequent complaints of citizens about wages and poverty, travel agencies say all the New Year holiday packages are sold out. This clearly indicates the nation’s love of highly exciting and pleasurable events notwithstanding their financial situation.
“A significant number of passengers take loans and pay them back in 6-12 installments. Montenegrin residents mostly visit European countries”, a travel agency told to CdM.
