Danica Crnogorcevic phenomenon

Danica Crnogorcevic, maiden name Nikic, by marrying the priest of the Serbian Orthodox Church Ivan Crnogorcevic, acquired this unusual surname for Montenegro. Around the same time, she started performing Serbian patriotic songs, and rose to stardom during the movement of the protest religious processions of the Serbian Orthodox Church, when her hits dominated the Serbian World. Serbian People, Rejoice, Shine Bright the Sun of Kosovo, as well as Orthodoxy Shines in Montenegro, which she performed with her husband Ivan, aroused emotions and won the hearts of the people. Serbian People, Rejoice, has become an inevitable part of the repertoire of all Serbian Christmas celebrations from Jacksonville, California, to the celebrations of the hometown club and Novak Djokovic’s fan club Chetnics from Australia. In addition, Crnogorcevic was often posted on the official profile of Prime Minister Krivokapic, and she also sang at the celebration of Russian-Serbian extremist organizations at Bioce, where Dritan Abazovic was a guest. The security service of Serbia immediately took an interest in Danica, so she was the star of the celebrations of the day of the Ministry of Interior of Serbia and the day of the BIA of Serbia, organized in KGB style. Her international career was attempted by guesting on the side stage of the Victory Day over Fascism celebration in Russia, in the midst of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Throughout her Serbian nationalist engagement, Crnogorcevic also performed a travesty of the Montenegrin national anthem called Oh, Heroic Light Dawn which she and her entourage and fans claim is the authentic text of the folk song, which “Sekula Drljevic changed”. The last performance of this song in front of the central temple of the Serbian Church in Podgorica caused a stormy reaction from the public and a response from the competent authorities was requested due to the alleged violation of the law. The fans and the Serbian World reacted by raising funds for Danica’s possible punishment.

SDP vs Abazovic – Back derby

The term cripple fight became part of American pop culture after an episode of the animated series South Park with the same name. This politically incorrect and insensitive title has since become synonymous with the struggle of weak, uninteresting marginal contestants in a competition. Our expression, more politically correct, more sensitive and decent, would be “back derby”.

In one of the numerous rematches of back derbies of the parliamentary Montenegrin political scene, Dritan Abazovic is settling scores with Rasko Konjevic. Yesterday, in an interview for Vijesti, Abazovic spoke inappropriately about Rasko Konjevic and Ranko Krivokapic, mentioning that Konjevic “has a diagnosis” and that he needs to pay back the €30,000 government loan that his mother received for the apartment. This was the answer to Komnenic’s question about Konjevic’s serious accusations that URA was financed by cigarette smuggling. SDP reacted strongly last night by the tweets of a large number of its officials, including Konjevic, who has been insinuating for some time that Rade Milosevic will accept to cooperate and announce the alleged involvement of Abazovic himself in cigarette smuggling.

Echoes of the Serbian-Sparta trips of Montenegrin officials

The American Embassy in Montenegro announced that it was “very disappointed” by the decision of two Montenegrin ministers to attend the recent ceremony marking the “Day of the Serb Republic”, which was declared unconstitutional by the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2015.

On the other hand, DF does not regret the way their local officials in Belgrade submitted the report to the Serbian Parliament. On the contrary, in their reactions they threaten and insult. The last insults in the line can be attributed to the spreading of national and ethnic hatred towards Montenegrins, and that by the nationalist and homophobic head of the parliamentary Human and Minority Rights Committee. While DPS calls for the dismissal of DF officials, Abazovic says that the public contract is sufficient.

That’s it for today and this week. See you again on Monday.

Kind regards,
