“I’m sorry that the Democratic Front feels like the protests are their property, and that they decided, without any consultation with the rest of the opposition, to map the goals, the means and the plans, and on top of all that, they thought insulting us is the way to get us to simply say yes or no to their cause. This policy of blackmail and disregard will not fly with Demos”, Danilovic said in an interview for Pobjeda daily, adding that he believes the protests are legitimate and that the DF has the right to organize them, but stressing that they have to right to insult everybody else.
He also underlined Demos is obliged to answer for its political character to no one but their voters.
“A lot of people support us… We’ll stick to what we said at the beginning. We will cooperate with those who are serious and respectable anti-regime opposition, and if some regretted their actions in the meanwhile, they should turn to themselves and leave us alone”, said Danilovic.
HE also said Demos will support any motion of no confidence in this government.
“Because this is imperative for every opposition”, he stressed.
Asked about the stand of Demos on the issue of Montenegro’s membership in NATO, Danilovic said the party’s program envisages a referendum for any security integration, including NATO.
“Our program very precisely mentions the necessity of organizing a referendum for eventual NATO integration. Every Demos voter knows this. We respect that there are people in Montenegro who are for it and against it, and we believe that the only way to show all of them respect is to organize national voting on such fateful issue”, he said.
