Democratic Montenegro (DCG) leader Aleksa Becic has announced that the decision on his candidacy in the presidential election will be taken by party bodies.
“After completing the party infrastructure and after our creative team, which has led all our winning campaigns, thoroughly considers the idea, the party bodies will take the decision timely and inform the public about it,” Becic said at a press conference.
He said that DCG believes that the work is the formula for success and that the party has been focused on the canvassing.
“We believe that canvassing is a method of political struggle that was missing in Montenegro and the key formula for the success has achieved since it was established,“ Becic said.
As he added, the Democratic Montenegro is aware of the “atmosphere on the ground.
“Accordingly, we do not need any additional research or any surveys or opinion of any political entity – we see and feel on the ground is sufficient for us,” Becic said.
Asked to comment on the Democratic Front’s announcement that it would not support him as the presidential candidate, Becic said that the activities of the political movement leaders were not in DCG’s scope of interest.
“Therefore, neither I nor the Democrats have intention to reiterate what we have said on several occasions,” added Becic.
