The deal reached: DPS and SD to form local administration in Cetinje

Cetinje

The Social Democrats (SD) and the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) have generally reached an agreement on establishing local administration in Cetinje, CdM learns.

As the portal has been told, SD has presented its platform for the functioning of the coalition with DPS, and the final deal will be reached in the next few days.

“Key things have been agreed. We have agreed on almost all issues. All details will soon be known. As we have earlier said, the posts are not important to SD. It is important that we work in the interest of citizens, to develop Cetinje, to open new jobs,” the SD source told CdM.

As CdM unofficially learns, SD could manage Cetinje’s finance department, communal affairs and culture department, as well as public utility Waters Supply and the National Library. The Local Revenue Administration and the Directorate for Investments will be managed by DPS cadre.

After a session on Monday, members of the Cetinje City Council will meet on Saturday.

The election of the assembly chairman will be on the agenda. It is also possible that the councillors will discuss the act on temporary financing of local government, as well as the election of a new mayor.

As a reminder, CdM was first to announce that Aleksandar Kascelan will be the new mayor of Cetinje.
