The Democrats responded to the article Amfilohije to Reconcile Becic with Mandic and Knezevic published by Pobjeda today and carried by CDM. The party denies Pobjeda’s allegations that it prepared a platform on cooperation with Democratic Front (DF), Socialist People’s Party (SNP) and Demos saying that it is brutal falsehood.
“The Democrats have proposed no platform about which the above-mentioned fabrication was created and it does intend to do such a thing,” DCG says.
The party also denies it plans to reconcile with DF leaders.
“This will not happen, because we have ended every communication with DF leaders,” DCG is clear.
The Democrats also points out that their claims are supported by the fact that the editor of Pobjeda’s politics section is “a DPS’s collaborator from the opposition ranks who supposedly has great ties and relations with the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro, but on the other hand, pushes the church into the daily politics by his lies”.
“Churches and religious communities are well aware that the Democrats have never talked to any of their representatives about daily politics, nor do we intend to do so. Involving churches and religious communities in daily politics in this way is unacceptable and shameful and poses a blow to churches and religious communities and to all their believers. In accordance with the Constitution of Montenegro, there is no room for politics in the Church, nor is there room for the Church in politics. Democrats have nothing to add to this constitutional principle,” the party said.
In DCG’s view, “the goal of this secret service ordered article, written in the DPS election headquarters in cooperation with one DPS collaborator from the opposition, is to try to harm the Democrats in Tuzi and Petnjica with lies”.
“However, it’s not going to happen – citizens of Montenegro have seen too many of these and similar spins to respond in the way expected by the OKG and its Pobjeda-based branch. With such 1990s-styled falsehoods from their ‘war for peace’ epoch, Pobjeda unconsciously announces the defeat of the DPS,” the Democrats stated.
