Over the past three years, Montenegrin parliament, unfortunately, lost of its quality and many unpleasant situations and conflicts between the MPs just contributed to such a state of play, Genci Nimanbegu, the vice-president of the Parliament and FORCA MP, told in an interview with Dnevne Novine daily.
According to him, certain political parties deliberately made some political decisions, which later on deteriorated in-parliament relations. On the question whether the MPs reach the agreement when no one is recording them, he said they often ask themselves if those are the same persons before and after the video recording. “Strong political dialogue and comments used to be the main characteristic of our Parliament but over the past 3 years, we have come to a very difficult position not desirable for the highest legislative institution in the state. Populims has been spreading in the Parliament as well, but that’s not just the case in MNE, but in the whole world.”
“The situations when some MPs used live broadcasting for their own or promotion of their parties often triggered many crisis in our Parliament. The MPs still must be ethical, moral and always aware of the fact they are representing someone else, not just themselves.”
As for the vocabulary often used in the Parliament, he noticed the MPs have been using words denoting divisions, deceiving the public by failing to tell complete truth …
Nimanbegu said: “The dialogue is crucial. For people with honest intentions, one can always find the topics for cooperation and development of a society. Regardless of our religion, ethnic and national affiliation, gender and whatever else, we all have the same worry – how to take care of our families and ourselves. Therefore, there are many elements we should work hard at in order to improve our society.”
Commenting on the church on Rumija, he said the Serbian Orthodox Church, SPC, committed violence in legal terms, not only the unlawful construction. “The SPC is a political organization, responsible for conflicts in our country. Its leaders can’t escape this fact.”
