After it was announced that as of 1 July, every drone pilot will have to take an online theoretical exam, several readers contacted the editorial office of CdM with the question whether owners of small drones whose mass is less than 250 grams will also have to do it as well. The CAA Civil Aviation Agency explained that it depends on the way the drone is equipped, and if operations are carried out within a special category.
According to it, the obligation to register and pass the online theoretical exam is for operators, i.e. pilots, when, regardless of the mass of the unmanned aircraft, they perform operations within a special category.
As of 1 July, the application of the new rulebook, which takes over the European regulation, will begin, and according to it, the registration for driving a drone will be carried out online.
In Montenegro, any natural and legal person who is registered as an unmanned aircraft operator can operate a drone.
