In addition to the representatives of the ruling coalition, DF MPs and the independent MP Aleksandar Damjanovic will attend Prime Minister’s Question Time that will take place in Parliament on 26 October. United Montenegro’s (UCG) MPs will decide whether to return to Parliament at their party’s executive committee sitting, Dnevne Novine learns.
The party invited all opposition MPs to gather and sign the conditions for the government to meet in order to move towards a democratic solution for the political crisis.
UCG executive committee chairman Goran Radonjic believes that the crucial question, which the opposition should answer as soon as possible, is how to make the government meet its demands.
“We’ll not attend PM’s question time. We will closely monitor what is going on and whether there is still a hope for opposition’s unity,” the party leader Goran Danilovic said.
Since the self-proclaimed civic opposition does not invite UCG to its meetings and has not responded to questions posed by this party, it is almost certain that there will be no united opposition. Therefore the party will probably return to Parliament since its scope of action is limited.
DF is to return to Parliament to ask questions related to prison sentence issued to DF MP Milan Knezevic. However, it failed to explain whether it would permanently break the boycott.
With the return of United Montenegro’s MPs, majority of opposition MPs will be present in Parliament, which is what the EU and US representatives wanted to see. They were repeating for months that Parliament was the only place for solving the political crisis.
MP Aleksandar Damjanovic earlier said he would return to Parliament if an opposition party did that.
