The DF claims that this action is launched immediately after the public became aware that Jovicevic was one of the most serious candidates for the top post in the DF after Miodrag Lekic left.
“We are not surprised by the regime’s media campaign against Andrija Jovicevic because we are aware that we are dealing with a political organization that has long relocated its party organs into the premises of the NSA . This action has been intensified in the eve of DF protests by open and brutal attacks on this man, to whom these centers are trying to attribute all sorts of things”, the party said.
They stressed this media campaign will not sway them:
“DF won’t be dettered by the latest regime’s campaign and attempts to intimidate people, all in order to talk about some kind of conspiracies and intrigues to affect the mass meeting, that is, to prevent the arrival of a part of disgruntled citizens of Montenegro in Podgorica. All DF knows about Andrija Jovicevic refers to his famous family pedigree and personal qualities of him as a man and as a politician, and since he is the subject of the most brutal attacks of the regime, this also tells us a lot”, the DF added.
Apparently, they argue, that the connection of Andrija Jovicevic with DF caused great anxiety within the regime.
“This is the origin of this villainy, which was not the case with certain others from the opposition, when the regime assessed that they do not pose major political danger and that they don’t have enough courage to threaten the long-standing rule of one party. On the other hand, Andrija Jovicevic – even according to estimates of the regime – belongs to a different type of politician, characterized by courage and constancy. DF expects the regime’s media campaign will not shake him up one bit, in case he decides to actively participate in the socio-political development of Montenegro in the future”, concluded the DF.
