DF ready for aggression in the event of unfavorable judgement

Mandić i Knežević

If you ask leaders of the Democratic Front, DF, Montenegro is on the brink of civil war. Complete mayhem will break out – it’s just one of the messages DF supporters announced in case their leaders, Andrija Mandić and Milan Knežević, are convicted of plotting a coup in Montenegro.

CdM’s interlocutors, on the other hand, say the citizens can be calm. President of the DPS Youth Council, Nikola Pešić, claims these messages are not a surprise having in mind they come from the DF.

“We’re used to these statements as we have been witnessing them for years. We are a democratic society and it’s possible to have such views but one must have certain limitations. Mr Mandić and Mr Knežević are aware of everything, they think if they impose pressure on responsible state bodies, the final judgement might be delivered in their favor,” Mr Pešić was adamant.

In addition, President of the Youth Council of the Liberal Party of Montenegro, Ammar Borančić, says DF members have been threatening for years. But, according to him, they are more bark than bite now.

“Every political commitment or program of the DF failed, while Montenegro keeps implementing reforms and democracy.”

Mr Borančić warns that aggressive behavior on a political scene is very dangerous as it might promote disharmony among citizens. “It’s tragic that some people are ready to instigate rioting only to achieve some small political interests.”

He assesses that DF leaders are behaving irresponsibly which has bad impact on the society and interpersonal relations.
