The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) did not succeed to “win” Niksic. The voter turnout of 45% means that citizens do not support this government, said the Democratic Front (DF) official Milutin Djukanovic at a press conference after local elections in Niksic.
“Our data suggest that DPS will have fewer votes than in the parliamentary elections. This is a great day for Niksic because we opposed the criminal government. Protests are the only logical step now that we know that the turnout was significantly lower than 50%,” Djukanovic said.
He added that opposition representatives in polling boards would not sign the reports, because “they do not recognise the elections”.
Djukanovic said that the citizens showed great courage because there was a lot of pressure to cast a ballot.
