Dikic on hunger strike

The former commander of the Serbian Gendarmerie Bratislav Dikic has gone on hunger strike at the Institute for the Enforcement of Criminal Sanctions (ZIKS), learns Pobjeda. Dikic has been charged with terrorism attempt on the day of parliamentary elections on 16 October 2016.

This information was also confirmed by his defence attorney, Dusan M. Jovovic, who stated that Dikic was in a very bad health condition.

“He has gone on hunger strike, refusing medical assistance in the ZIKS premises. He uses the medication of foreign origin and alternative methods of treatment, which are not on the list of the Ministry of Health, so he cannot be provided with adequate medical care,” Dikic’s lawyer said.

Jovovic added that the High Court Chamber had not decided yet on their request to release Dikic from custody.
