NGOs and other non-profitable organizations entered this year with a total of €50m in deposits. At the end of December 2017, according to data from the Central Bank (CBCG), they had €45.59m in their accounts. Last year, their deposits were never below €40.79m, which is the lowest last year’s monthly deposit, recorded in March. The record of the year was broken in August when they had €50.19m.
Pobjeda didn’t officially receive the answer about who is included in this classification, apart from NGOs. Unofficially, it reports that, in addition to domestic and foreign NGOs, it includes foundations, Red Cross, trade union and sports organizations, embassies, OSCE, UNDP and religious organizations.
MANS director Vanja Calovic says that it’s impossible both in theory and in practice that €50m belongs to NGOs. Calovic explains that if this classification excludes international and religious organizations, then something isn’t right. It’s possible that someone is hidden behind such a big deposit, she adds.
