Discrimination: HIV-infected people often get fired

According to data of the Institute of Public Health, IJZ, there have been 19 new HIV-infected people this year in Montenegro, of whom 10 have already had AIDS, writes Pobjeda, a daily. Two people died from AIDS this year.

On the occasion of the World AIDS Day, 1 December, the IJZ noted that the Montenegrin society is still immature when it comes to discrimination of the HIV-infected people. “Discrimination against HIV-infected people still exists, especially in the health care institutions and by staff in those institutions,” the IJZ told Pobjeda.

However, so far, there hasn’t been recorded any case of proving HIV-related discrimination.
