Montenegro’s Ministry of Defence and Armed Forces have launched proceedings against two soldiers after a video surfaced showing one of them singing songs dedicated to Chetnik commander Draza Mihailovic while raising three fingers.
The Ministry said authorities had been aware of the case before the footage appeared in the media and had already begun investigating. The soldier seen singing is reportedly on extended sick leave without submitting the required medical documentation, and dismissal proceedings have been initiated against him.
A second soldier appearing in the video has also given a statement and is facing disciplinary proceedings.
The Ministry stressed that the Armed Forces uniform must not be used to promote extremist ideologies, nationalist projects, party politics, or support for organised crime figures. The video sparked strong public reactions and criticism over the glorification of Chetnik symbolism and historical revisionism within the military.
