The majority of parliamentary parties is ready to continue talks in order to reach the consensus over appointments in judiciary, said the President of Montenegro, Milo Djukanovic.
“I’ve announced, and I may say that we’ve already started, that we’ll communicate with all parliamentary parties on two topics,” President Djukanovic told reporters following the Official Academy on the occasion of 50 years since the Association of Municipalities has started to function.
Also, the President said that they would discuss the decision of the DPS to withdraw its support to the government. “We’ll discuss it with our partners to see how they see it, because, as you know, there’re two options – a no-confidence motion or to cut short the mandate of the parliament.”
He added that Montenegro’s agreement with the Serbian Orthodox Church couldn’t have international dimension. “There’s only one such agreement, with the Holy See. All other agreements are between Montenegro and a religious community. It’s why I don’t think it’d need the parliament’s ratification.”
