Employees of the Emergency Centre of the Clinical Centre of Montenegro (KCCG) performed usual job in the New Year’s Eve. On the night between 1 and 2 January, an increased volume of work was registered. The usual day at the Emergency Centre involves the care of about 250 patients.

“On New Year’s Eve, most of the patients were young people who sought medical help because of uncontrolled consumption of alcoholic beverages, which worries me. A huge number of them asked for the help of doctors of the Emergency Centre. There were no injuries from violence. There were cases of people who suffered minor injuries in traffic accidents. There were also chronic patients with common problems because of failure to comply with the doctor’s instructions, or excessive and inadequate consumption of food and drink during the holidays,” Emergency Centre director Nermin Abdic told Dnevne Novine.
