No findings or the result of radiological examination indicated signs of physical abuse when recently deceased 15-month-old boy was received at the Clinical Centre of Montenegro on 6 January, the Union of Doctors of Medicine of Montenegro stated. The child passed away on 5 February after his step father had beaten him.
The doctors’ trade union states that hundreds of children with similar head injuries (which are frequent at that age and are most likely to be the result of a fall or an accident) are reported monthly. It adds that when abused children are physically examined, there are traces of fingers or some objects that caused the injuries, which was not the case then.
