DPS political director Tarzan Milosevic met the director of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation‘s Regional Office for Serbia and Montenegro, Ursula Koh Laugvich, on Wednesday, the ruling party stated.
“Presenting the current social and political situation, director Milosevic referred to the overall developments that preceded parliamentary elections, particularly in the political environment after the results were announced. During the talks, Milosevic presented the fact that the result and regularity of the general elections was ratified by all relevant international monitoring missions. He added that the high turnout confirmed the trust in policies that guarantee their pro-Western and pro-European future,” DPS stated.
In this sense, he pointed out that the Parliament boycott by the opposition had no valid basis, pointing also to the opposition’s inconsistency when it comes to ideological and agenda principles.
As the party added, Milosevic said that the new government led by DPS remained firmly committed to EU and NATO integration processes and their formalisation, which will further guarantee the stability not only of Montenegro, but of the entire region.
“Laugvich pointed out that Montenegro was recognized in international circles as a leader in the region when it comes to EU and NATO integration and expressed hope that Montenegro would achieve its strategic goals to be a part of European and Euro-Atlantic structures. The officials expressed readiness to continue cooperation in order to achieve stronger democratisation of the Montenegrin society,” the statement said.
