Đukanović’s Cabinet: Nacional weekly recycles lies in a desperate attempt to boost circulation

The misinformation published on the cover of the Croatian weekly Nacional, about the involvement of the President of Montenegro, Mr Milo Đukanović, in the murder of Mr Ivo Pukanić, represents recycling of a lie launched eight years ago and immediately after denied by all actors of that fabrication, including Mr Sreten Jocić, who was, in the meantime, acquitted of charges for the murder of the owner of Nacional in Serbia, the President’s Cabinet stated today.

Croatia’s Nacional published today that there’s an audio recording indicating that President Đukanović might have ordered the killing of Mr Pukanić, and that Mr Joca Amsterdam allegedly noted he could have been a free man if only he had revealed the role of the Montenegrin President in that story.

The President’s Cabinet points out that pressures of the Serbian police managers during Boris Tadić’s rule – that Mr Jocić falsely accuses Mr Đukanović – aiming to discredit Montenegro and its leadership, did not give the desired effect.

“At that time, they were debunked as one in a series of attempts to criminalize Milo Đukanović, which various intelligence and media centers have been carrying out for more than 20 years,” they stated.
