The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) will allocate €15m to finance the reconstruction of the road from Tivat to Jaz Beach near Budva.

Namely, as announced by the head of the EBRD for Montenegro Jaap Sprey on LinkedIn, the road from the current two will develop into four lanes of the boulevard type and will enable easier and faster connection on the busiest route in the country, connecting two key tourist cities on the Montenegrin coast, Dnevne Novine reports.

“The project will increase the resilience of the road network to climate change by introducing climate resilience measures. This includes measures to avoid erosion and landslides, increase drainage capacity, strengthen embankments, change the design of the bridge, etc.”, says Sprey.

The reconstruction includes the construction of 16 kilometers of four-lane road with 12 roundabouts, and the parallel installation of a 15-kilometer-long second pipeline for the needs of the Coastal Water Supply company, between Jaz and the entrance to Tivat.
