Eight murders motivated by gain have been committed in Montenegro over the past ten years. The statistics shows that the victims were mostly elderly people, while the perpetrators were mostly physically superior and younger. The victims and offenders were often closely acquainted, writes Pobjeda.
The latest murder motivated by gain occurred last week in Podgorica, when Pljevlja resident Emil Sarvan (32) strangled his aunt Durija Pojatic, a retired Russian teacher.
It is assumed that the motive was gain, since the police found €150 searching Sarvan.
After several years during which Pojatic financially helped Sarvan, Pojatic wanted to interrupt any communication with him. She even reported him to police for harassment.
Last Monday, however, he found a way to get into her apartment and to take her money in the harshest possible way.
